FibreSpan Embarks on Business Expansion Programme

London, United Kingdom, 15 May 2006

FibreSpan, the premier provider of affordable dark fibre, today announced its 2006 growth plans and has launched a recruitment drive as a result of its continued success throughout the UK.

The company plans to increase its team by 25% in the areas of business development and network engineering, it has also acquired more office space to accommodate the growing team.  Following its recent statement on its record performance throughout 2005, FibreSpan’s expansion reinforces its position as a successful player in the provision of dark fibre solutions.

The expansion will enable FibreSpan to maximise new opportunities and respond to the growing demand for affordable dark fibre throughout the country.  Robert Bickett, CEO of FibreSpan, comments: “The bandwidth model offered by FibreSpan is in such demand that we have embarked on this expansion by way of necessity.  Over the last 18-months we have increased customer numbers in our established markets and we are continuing to aggressively expand into new sectors.”

FibreSpan’s customers are using their dark fibre networks as a solid foundation to facilitate and implement improvements in communication infrastructure. They are cutting costs, securely linking remote sites, increasing bandwidth connectivity, hosting advanced software applications and implementing disaster recovery strategies.

FibreSpan’s exceptional success has been driven by its patent-pending microduct technology that enables it to install fibre networks in far less time and significantly lower cost than traditional methods.  Combining affordable dark fibre connectivity with a fixed cost unlimited bandwidth model, the cost of FibreSpan connectivity remains constant regardless of bandwidth.

Since its inception in 2001, FibreSpan has grown from strength to strength, earning an outstanding reputation as the most competitive dark fibre provider to multi-site organisations throughout the UK.  The company will continue to penetrate the public sector market, whilst shifting its customer mix to generate revenue from enterprise customers.
