FibreSpan, the country’s leading independent dark fibre telecoms specialist, provides dark fibre connectivity to Chesterfield District Council. The link enables the Council to facilitate high-speed communication across a secure connection with its County Council.
The Council was looking for a solution to provide a dedicated 10Mb data service between its office and Derbyshire County Council, which is in close proximity. What’s more, having forecast its data transfer requirements the Council was aware that it would need to upgrade up to 100Mb in the near future.
The organisation approached FibreSpan based on its reputation of providing the most competitive dark fibre solution and responsive service – FibreSpan was appointed in competition against BT LES Circuits.
FibreSpan’s dark fibre solution – the first viable dark fibre alternative to BT LES circuits – provides dark fibre at the most competitive rate and charges a fixed annual cost regardless of bandwidth or usage. This means the Council has a fixed cost base for the term of the contract independent of its bandwidth requirements – now or in the future.
