FibreSpan Provides Dark fibre connectivity

Multiple Clients within the Legal, Education, Retail and Public Sectors

London, United Kingdom, 26 October 2009

In 2005, FibreSpan provided the London School of Economics with a high-bandwidth and high quality dark fibre communication link to provide remote connectivity from new student halls of residence to the LSE’s IT Centre located off the Aldwych in London’s West End. Continuing our long standing relationship with the university, we are delighted to announce that FibreSpan has been appointed to extend the existing network to meet the requirements if the university’s expanding campus footprint.

We are also pleased to announce that FibreSpan is working with Farrer & Co LLP, the distinguished and successful London-based law firm, to provide inter-site dark fibre connectivity at their Lincoln’s Inn Fields offices.

Further enhancing its solid reputation for providing dark fibre connectivity to the retail sector, FibreSpan is also pleased to announce that it is working in close partnership with one of the UK’s best known retail groups. BHS Ltd has appointed us to provide managed dark fibre and high-speed Ethernet services to the group’s Marylebone House and North West House sites on Marylebone Road.

The London Borough of Brent is seeing increased demands for bandwidth within its office infrastructure and, to enable the Council to proactively plan for future bandwidth and network capacity needs, has appointed FibreSpan to deliver a private dark fibre network connecting nine of the Council’s key sites across Wembley.

Phase One of the network deployment is now complete, and the diverse infrastructure it provides facilitates both voice and data services to be delivered on a single network, saving the Council both money and resources. Moving forward, the Council will be able to maximise the versatility of their private dark fibre network and work with FibreSpan to further develop their network to meet their complex operational needs.

Following these recent appointments, Robert Bicket, Chief Executive of FibreSpan, commented “Since our inception in 2001, FibreSpan has gone from strength to strength. It is a testament to our outstanding reputation as the most competitive dark fibre provider to multi-site organisations, in multiple market sectors, that we continue to maintain close, long-term, relationships with clients whose network needs are continually evolving.”
