FibreSpan win LINK Interchange Network contract
London, United Kingdom, 28 November 2005
FibreSpan, Britain’s premier affordable dark fibre solution provider, has today announced that it has supplied bespoke dark fibre connectivity to the operator of the LINK cash machine (ATM) network - the busiest shared ATM network in the world.
In addition to their high speed data requirements, the network will also meet the needs of the company’s security monitoring infrastructure for a newly acquired location at its head office site. The fibre will handle real-time transmission of CCTV signals from multiple units across the remote site to the head office on the business park.
The solution was devised following FibreSpan’s successful tender to provide dark fibre for high speed data services between the locations. FibreSpan identified the opportunity to install multi-mode fibre as an addition to standard single-mode dark fibre through its unique patent-pending microduct. The cost, resource and convenience rationalisation was significant for the company, enabling smooth construction of an all inclusive network.
LINK is another enterprise customer win for FibreSpan, reinforcing a shift seen in the marketplace as companies move away from traditional restricted bandwidth providers to dark fibre providers.
“LINK’s selection of FibreSpan’s unlimited bandwidth solution is an encouraging reflection of the change in attitude and shift away from the traditional service providers. Our aim is to make dark fibre solutions available to all industries,” said Robert Bicket, CEO of FibreSpan.
