FibreSpan achieves 2nd place

In the IT industry’s largest sailing regatta

On 17th and 18th September, FibreSpan, together with 400 other IT industry professionals, competed in the 10th Silicon Cup. On board the FibreSpan yacht, the crew of seven comprised representatives from FibreSpan, Imperial College and Interxion.

Having successfully completed the two days of competitive racing, FibreSpan achieved two 1st places, a 2nd, and a 4th in IRC Class 2, resulting in 2nd place in this race class and 3rd place in the overall regatta.

This year’s Silicon Cup also raised in the region of £50,000 for worthwhile causes through its fundraising events.

Following this year’s success, FibreSpan plans to compete again in 2010.
