FibreSpan, the premier provider of private dark fibre networks, today announced that it has extended its partnership with Sohonet, which has been a valued customer since 2004.

The network and systems integrator sector, which is a key customer segment for FibreSpan alongside corporate and public sector multi-site organisations, is increasingly seeking reliable and flexible partners capable of providing high-bandwidth solutions that put them in control of customer service delivery.

This is particularly the case for Sohonet, the only network company dedicated to servicing Soho’s film production and post-production industry. Sohonet has contracted FibreSpan to extend its West London network following orders to connect a further seven customers since the start of the year.  

Customers already benefiting from the Sohonet network include: Channel 4, The Engine Group, Hallmark, The Mill, MTV, Saatchi & Saatchi, Sky TV and Pinewood Studios.

The announcement is testament to the success of what has become a long-term partnership. Sohonet was attracted to FibreSpan’s leased dark fibre solution as it provides unlimited bandwidth at a fixed cost, a package that is not available from incumbent providers.  

The network provides an advanced global digital media network, dramatically speeding up the production process – delivering significant time and cost savings across production projects for customers in the media and film industries. The service allows customers to transfer and access material to and from studios, production facilities, VFX houses, agents and clients – quickly, reliably and securely.
