Who is FibreSpan?

Why FibreSpan?
FibreSpan holds a unique position in the market as the first Telco to provide dark fibre connectivity using a fixed cost unlimited bandwidth model. This means that, unlike traditional leased lines, the cost of FibreSpan connectivity remains constant regardless of bandwidth and usage, resulting in a genuinely future proof solution. More...
What is Dark Fibre?
Dark fibre is the name given to raw, unconnected optical fibre without any particular assigned function – it is not "lit". For specialists, dark fibre evokes unlimited possibilities and three key benefits – flexibility (no limits can be imposed on usage or bandwidth), scalability (an optical network can meet growing traffic requirements at any time) and lifespan (it is estimated that today's optical fibres have a technology span of at least 15 years).
What does the service include?
FibreSpan offers an end-to-end service that includes consultation, network planning, rapid deployment and comprehensive support. More...
What is FibreSpan’s network footprint?
FibreSpan’s wholly owned private leased networks are bespoke to provide clients with the optimum network solution. This means we will design and deploy a private dark fibre circuit to meet specific connectivity requirements, avoiding a substantial investment in surplus network capacity. However, should there be a FibreSpan point of presence in the immediate locality, our technology enables seamless reinstatement and network breakout from existing network routes.
How quickly can FibreSpan deploy a bespoke network?
FibreSpan has a reputation for rapid installation and (subject to planning) can immediately get to work on any dark fibre deployment throughout the UK.
What would we get from other Telco’s leased lines?
The first point to note is that it is uncommon of any Telco to lease private dark fibre circuits at a fixed cost, retaining the commercial benefits of dark fibre by selling leased line capacity as a commodity. As such, other Telcos typically supply leased line bandwidth in Mbps or Gbps service packages offering varying speeds and capacities, at varying costs. Leased private circuits are delivered via the operator’s established network and/or a third party network that could use a range of transport technologies.
